Shambhunath Mishra (Sanjay Mishra), a retired teacher in Gwalior, and his wife Manju (Neena Gupta) live a humble, middle-class life. They are deeply in debt after borrowing money from a sadistic loan shark, Prajapati Pandey (Saurabh Sachdeva), to fund their ungrateful son's education in the US.
