The collaboration between Danish multi-instrumentalist and legendary saxophonist Karsten Vogel (of Burnin Red Ivanhoe and Secret Oyster) began with the seminal 1998 album Experimental Health . This experimental studio project, released under the name Taylor's Universe with Karsten Vogel , merged 1970s progressive jazz-rock traditions with contemporary avant-garde experimentation. Background and Musical Style

: A fusion of jazz-rock, symphonic progressive rock, and Canterbury-style influences.

The partnership formed in 1996 when Taylor contacted Vogel for permission to use material from Vogel's previous bands; instead, Vogel "invited himself" to participate in the recordings. The resulting music is characterized by:

: Use of melodic backdrops for intense instrumental soloing and "controlled chaos" soundscapes.

: Compositions that shift between warm, romantic melodies and "freezing menace". Key Collaborative Works

Taylor and Vogel became the core of the Taylor's Universe project from 1998 onward, releasing several notable albums: Experimental Health | Taylor's Universe with Karsten Vogel
