The is a critical musculotendinous envelope that surrounds the glenohumeral (shoulder) joint, providing both dynamic stability and a wide range of motion . It consists of four distinct muscles, often remembered by the mnemonic SITS : the S upraspinatus, I nfraspinatus, T eres minor, and S ubscapularis.
