The story follows Derice Bannock, a Jamaican sprinter who fails to qualify for the Summer Olympics after a fellow runner trips. Determined to compete in the Olympics, he recruits his pushcart-racing friend Sanka Coffie and two other sprinters to form Jamaica's first bobsleigh team.
