The Serenity Prayer at 2 AM Characters: Bonnie, Christy, Tammy, Marjorie

Focus more on the elements or the dramatic sobriety aspect?

"I’m telling you, the hardest part of being out isn’t the lack of a job," Tammy whispered, gripping a fork so hard her knuckles turned white. "It’s that everything smells too loud." Mom 5x16

Marjorie walked in then, looking entirely too awake for the hour. She sat down, ordered tea, and surveyed the scene. "So," Marjorie said gently, "Who is working the steps, and who is currently taking steps backward?"

"Mom, stop," Christy hissed. "We came here to support Tammy, not to start a riot over dairy." The Serenity Prayer at 2 AM Characters: Bonnie,

The night had begun with a promising meeting, but quickly derailed when a new person shared a story that sounded suspiciously like a plot from a soap opera, setting Bonnie off on a tangent about her own "Hollywood days."

The neon sign for the 24-hour diner buzzed aggressively, matching the headache forming behind Christy’s eyes. It was 2:00 AM. They should have been asleep three hours ago. Instead, Bonnie was lecturing a waitress on the proper way to make decaf, while Tammy—freshly out of prison and overwhelmed by the sheer volume of napkins on the table—was vibrating with anxiety. She sat down, ordered tea, and surveyed the scene

"Listen to me, you giant baby," Bonnie said, her voice uncharacteristically soft. "That cigarette is a lie. Just like that third husband of mine was a lie. You’re safe here."
