Last Night (feat. Keyshia Cole) -

"Last night was a lifetime ago," Keyshia interrupted, her voice softening just enough to let the hurt show. "You said things, Marcus. Promises you've made a thousand times before. But when the sun came up, you were gone again. Just like always."

Marcus reached out, finally closing the gap and taking her hand. His skin was cold, hers was fire. "I’m not running anymore, Keyshia. I stayed away today because I wanted to make sure that when I looked at you again, I was ready to stay for good." Last Night (feat. Keyshia Cole)

"I didn't think you'd come," Marcus said, his voice a gravelly whisper. But when the sun came up, you were gone again

Marcus sat at the corner of the mahogany bar, his fingers tracing the rim of a glass he’d barely touched. He was waiting for the one person who could either fix his world or end it. When the door chimed, he didn't have to look up to know it was her. The air simply changed; it became heavier, sweeter.

Marcus didn't answer with words. He just tightened his grip on her hand, watching their reflection in the mirror behind the bar—two people tired of the game, finally deciding that the prize was worth the price of admission.

"About last night..." Marcus started, but the words felt like lead.
