In the 14th-century epic poem The Divine Comedy , the Roman poet serves as the guide for the character Dante as they descend through the nine circles of Hell. Virgil represents human reason and provides the moral and intellectual framework for the journey. The Nine Circles of Hell:

It adapts all monsters and environmental effects from the original poem into game mechanics.
