The two women are involved in a catastrophic car accident that leaves both of them severely burned. A scientist, Dr. Armando Rivera, rescues Mariana but mistakenly believes she is Analía because he finds Analía’s photo near the wreckage. He uses experimental technology to reconstruct Mariana's face using Analía's image, effectively giving Mariana "the face of Analía".
