Chelsea grew up in a close-knit family with her parents, Maria and Carlos Romero, and her younger brother, Mateo. Her parents, both high school sweethearts, own a small, family-run restaurant in East LA, where Chelsea spent much of her childhood helping out with various tasks. This exposure instilled in her a love for cooking, good food, and community.
