The file finished. Without scanning it, Elias dragged the icon into his client. The file size was strangely small—only 400MB for a game that should have been gigabytes. He clicked "Run."
“Wait,” Elias whispered, but his voice came out as the hiss of a leaking radiator. The car hit the barrier at 120 mph.
The game window opened, but there was no main menu. No "Options" or "Start." It dropped him straight into the Gridmap—the endless orange-and-gray testing void. In the center sat a generic sedan, matte black with no textures. Elias tapped the 'W' key.
