The episode begins when SG-1 discovers a perfectly preserved, dormant young woman on a ravaged, lifeless world. They bring her back to Stargate Command (SGC), only to realize she isn't human—she’s a highly advanced android named (played with haunting, childlike volatility by Danielle Nicolet).
Jack sees a malfunctioning weapon of mass destruction. To him, Reese is "broken" and too dangerous to be left active, especially when she starts producing new Replicators inside the SGC that begin to overwhelm the base.
